Where did you come from?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What made you stay, back in the 19th Century?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Businessmen and adventurers at the same time,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great men, all in one, you were!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You arrived where the American River<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the Sacramento River meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Had crossed the country with wagons<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sailed around Cape Horn,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lost men and goods on your journey,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did not find what you where looking for –<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nevertheless, you stayed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only going back to return with more,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To spread the news to the East:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gold, wealth, business are waiting for you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built and rebuilt your enterprises<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Survived floods, fires, wars,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cholera, gold madness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connected West and East with railroads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Made your town State Capitol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turned generations after you<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Into country loving, business minded,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crazy driving, river swimming,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weather defying, celebrating Sacramenteans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wo kamen sie her?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warum sind sie geblieben, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Damals im 19. Jahrhundert?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gesch\u00e4ftslm\u00e4nner und Abenteurer zugleich,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Einzigartig waren sie alle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sie kamen hierhin, wo der American<\/p>\n\n\n\n

und Sacramento Fluss sich vereinen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waren durch die H\u00f6lle von Kap Horn gesegelt,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hatten das Land mit Planwagen durchquert,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Menschen und G\u00fcter auf der Reise verloren,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

und nicht einmal gefunden,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

weshalb sie gekommen waren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trotz alldem – sie sind geblieben,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gingen zur\u00fcck um mit mehr wiederzukommen,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

und dem Osten zu verk\u00fcnden:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reicht\u00fcmer, Erfolg, Gold warten auf euch!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sie haben Unternehmen gegr\u00fcndet, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

verloren und gr\u00f6sser wiedererbaut,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fluten, Feuer, Kriege,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cholera, Goldrausch \u00fcberlebt,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

den Westen mit dem Osten<\/p>\n\n\n\n

auf Schienen verbunden,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

den Grundstein gelegt f\u00fcr <\/p>\n\n\n\n

das Natur verbundene, Land liebende<\/p>\n\n\n\n

dem Wetter trotzende, gesch\u00e4ftst\u00fcchtige,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
